After the Kettering Kroger was searched on Tuesday due to a bomb threat, Nothing was Discovered

Following the Tuesday report of a bomb threat at a Kettering Kroger, police searched the area but found nothing suspicious.

At approximately 5:13 pm. Kettering police received a call regarding a threat involving a suspicious device inside the East Stroop Road Store.

Five bomb-sniffing dogs from the area were dispatched to the store as a precaution, according to Kettering Patrol Officer Cythnia James, the department’s public information officer.

When around 7 pm crews returned to the store but found nothing.

There were no reported injuries. As of early Wednesday afternoon, no suspects had been named.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

This weekend is St. Patrick’s Day weekend, so Friday night in Washington Township is set aside for an OVI sobriety checkpoint.

The checkpoint will be run by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Combined Agency OVI Task Force, and it will run from 6:30 to 10:30 pm the department has announced.

During roadside checkpoints, deputies will search for indications of impairment in drivers, according to the sheriff’s office.
